About/Rules
The Angry Hourglass is home to Flash Frenzy, a weekly flash fiction challenge where writers have 36 hours to create a story of up to 360 words (exclusive of title) based on the photo prompt. The challenge kicks-off on Saturday at 6:00am MST and runs until Sunday at 6:00pm MST. You may post stories and comments at any time, but only entries received during official challenge-hours are eligible to win. Check the world clock if you’re unsure. The Angry Hourglass keeps time in Salt Lake City.
All eligible entries will be judged by myself or special guest judges (recruited from the previous month’s winners – so be prepared!). At the judge’s discretion, up to 3 runners-up/honorable mentions may be named in addition to a single FLASH MASTER for the week. Winners and their stories will be showcased on Wednesday as the featured “Hump-Day Quickie”
Every four months, all 1st place stories from that period will compete for a yet-to-be-determined prize; these results will be based on votes from you, the readers.
Question: Is there a number limit of stories per writer per week? Thanks, Emily
If you feel inspired enough to write more than one story based on the prompt, by all means, post them! Far be it from me to limit your creativity.
Is it possible to request amendments / edits to pieces once they have been submitted, if such amendments / edits are submitted before the closing deadline?
If not, given your response to the query by streetej, would a submission of the same story, but with amendments / edits, before the closing deadline, be acceptable?
Yes, you can leave a comment with the requested edits under the story, but I sometimes don’t see those until the following day, or you can DM me on Twitter and I usually see those messages and respond in a more timely manner.
OOPs… sorry. Tired , should have gone to bed instead of being on the PC. Posted entry here instead of on the page. can you remove it? I have posted on page now…apologies
