I’d like to thank the writers who came out to play this weekend and to drmagoo for judging their entries. Here are his comments:

Thank you to the three writers who set their minds free in a garden and took the time to consider the story of a small bird, taking flight among the flora.

It was a close call, but I’m giving the prize this week to Karl A. Russell, for spinning a tale of time travel, self-sacrifice, and a young girl that needed to be saved – but why?

Catherine Connolly – I liked the premise of your story, but the sentence structure was a little choppy for me. I’d also watch out for repetition – such as “behind gold bars, as opposed to the usual gilded gilt,” where gilded and gilt also often mean golden.

lossforwords360 – Another intriguing premise, but too short. You had more room to develop the story, to make it more than a premise.

Thank you all for entering, and recruit your friends and neighbors for next week!

Congratulations Karl! Your story will be featured as tomorrow’s HumpDay quickie. This weekend two-time Flash Master Beth Deitchman will be judging. Set your alarms, tell your friends and we’ll see you on Saturday.
