Sorry for the late post. Work was crazy! Thanks for everybody who participated in Flash Frenzy this week, and thanks to drmagoo for graciously donating his time to judge the entries. He has provided feedback on all of the stories which I will post below, followed by his top picks for the week.

I really enjoyed everyone’s stories – thanks for the wildly different takes on the prompt. Made my life harder but much more fun.
stellakateT: I loved the way the story built, showing us in layers the horror of the world that the narrator was living in.
lossforwords360: A sweet little story about finding hope in difficult times.
Image Ronin: What was a well-told story about a granddad and his grandson out for a climb, with some nice local color to help set the scene, turned into something more with the revelation of the loss each of them had suffered.
Tinman: Trapped in a life they hate, but can’t conceive of anything else, the dwarves’ story is rarely told. What will Sleepy find, I wonder.
zevonesque: An interesting scene of a husband and wife getting trapped just where they don’t want to be. I couldn’t quite figure out why she was stuck up top, but as someone with a fear of heights, I can imagine her pain.
Beth Deitchman: That last line was certainly unexpected, a nice grisly twist on a fun little tale of a man inexplicably alone in a candy factory. Be careful of what you wish for.
Karl A Russell: A beautifully rendered scene that illustrates the hope, illusion, and reality of youth.
milambc: How hard it has to be, to be someone who lives for the adrenalin rush of physical challenges and be unable to realize your passions anymore. Nice job.
SECOND RUNNER UP:  Image RoninBurden
FIRST RUNNER UP: Karl A Russell – The Mountain King
